#DevTO welcomes 3 new sponsors!

It has been a busy kick off to 2012 with our first two events at BNotions being 2 weeks apart. Reason for that is we wanted to give you yet anotherevent to attend during Social Media Week in Toronto. We will be back to regular #DevTO schedule i.e. last Monday of the month for now.

SalesForce / Rypple

You must have heard that recently SalesForce acquired one of our long time supporters and sponsor Rypple. We are extremely happy and excited to share that Rypple+Salesforce will still continue to support #DevTO going forward!

Rypple’s support for DevTO started way before they became official sponsors in October. We have welcomed many of the Rypple crew to our events from the beginning so a big shout out to all you Rypplers out there and congratulations on joining the SalesForce family! We look forward to seeing you at our future events!

Shaw

Over the past month we have been chatting with Terry Yan (@cubiclegeek) from Shaw. He’s down here from Calgary helping with their expansion in their Toronto offices. Shaw also joins us this month as one of #DevTO’s official sponsors. Shaw is expanding their Technology Transformation department into their Toronto 121 Bloor E office! We are looking for Devs, BAs, QAs, PMs and other IT professionals. For more information, please visit www.shaw.ca/careers. If you don’t see a posting, please hang tight; postings for all roles will be published shortly!

ThirdOcean
Finally our friends at ThirdOcean in Toronto have also jumped on board to help us bring this event to the rest of the Toronto tech community. ThirdOcean is a social media marketing and community management firm in Toronto. Make sure you check out their XConnectTO project.

So a big thank you to all of you who have supported us thus far. We have a lot of great things in the plans for 2012 and we look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events. Remember our next event is March 26h 2012 and the tickets will be posted online March 5th. Make sure you are following @DevTO to know when and if you join our mailing list you will get a reminder when tickets go live!

That’s all folks!

Nael, Chris, Jo & Kevin!

#devTO does Social Media Week Toronto

After 10 consecutive rounds( and a thanks for coming out to our first ever #devTO of 2012, which happened last Monday. Braving winter like that), we’ve decided to give our friends a bit of a background story. And with Social Media Week creeping around the corner, we’ve ALSO devised a session solely to deliver it.

#devTO 10. Or… Creating a community of Developers and Designers” for short. Atendy and Epilogger will also get a spotlight as they are a key part of #devTO’s story. Social Media Week’s focus is complimentary to the very meet-up that this post is referring to. Heck, this event WAS built through twitter btw.  We’re all excited about being a part of this worldwide event. Very much so that we’re doing the presentation with our two companies. Who better to know the story than the Full House-esque dads of #devto?  Talk about a real narrative!

“I went to the event posting and there’s no more spots! What’s up with THAT?!”

I know, I know: we’re sold out already and ALOT of folks can’t wait until March’s #devTO 11. Understandable. There MAY be openings, for sure, but the policies for SMWTO are pretty set in stone. There could be more spots opened in the next week! For those who had their Kung Fu-trigger finger coding hands: this will be at #Bnotions  on Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 6:30pm.
